One of the times that many of us Malaysians will most likely experience, if not as teenagers, then at any point in our lives is learn to drive and take it Department of Road Transport (JPJ) test.
Since almost all Malaysians have already taken the test, there are many stories about it – how some of us studied very hard for it but failed and how some of us paid an “additional fee” to pass.
Recently, a TikTok video posted by Malaysian singer-songwriter Danial Chuer went viral.
It was a short comic video sharing his experience taking the JPJ test.
He said he took the test twice and failed both times.
“Guys, your boy here has already failed the JPJ test twice. The first time was because I I forgot to put on my seat belt,” he shared.
“And the second time was because of parking issues and how I accidentally grabbed the examiner’s knee thinking it was the gear stick.”
Internet users can understand
The video has been viewed over 200,000 times and prompted many netizens to express amusement to history, share their own funny stories pass the test and tips for passing this.
“Thank God it’s the knee.”
“I thought you would have automatically passed once you grab his knee.
“When I took my JPJ test, I was so nervous about changing gears that I accidentally grabbed the examiner’s hand. I cried, so he let me through.
“That’s how it is. The next time you take the JPJ test, Pray it’s a Friday and it rains. It was a rainy Friday when I took my test – they let me through even though my car went over the splitter.
Looking back it might be funny, but anyone who’s been through something similar knows it was probably very embarrassing at the time.
Nevertheless, it makes quite a story to tell at parties or during meals!
