Gillette, Wyo. – Primary Election Day in Campbell County is Tuesday, August 16.

Voters can find their polling place with a online poll locator offered by Campbell County. People can search their address to find their polling place. The Elections Office plans to add sample ballots to the map in the future, Elections Coordinator Michelle L. Leiker said.

Voters can pick up sample ballots at the Campbell County Elections Office, 500 S. Gillette Ave., Suite 1602, Gillette. They can also call the office at 307-686-1892 to request that the office email or mail them a sample ballot.

The alternative to voting in person on August 16 is to vote by mail. To request an absentee ballot, voters can send this form at the Elections Office or email it to Leiker at michelle.leiker@campbellcountywy.gov. They can also call the Elections Office and request a mail-in ballot.

Mail-in ballot applications have been accepted since Jan. 1, Leiker said. Voters must request an absentee ballot each election year they wish to receive one.

Residents can vote by mail in person at the Elections Office until 5 p.m. on August 15. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On August 16, voters must vote at the polling station in their constituency, not at the election office. Polling stations are open that day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Elections Office must receive mail-in ballots by 7 p.m. on August 16.

Absentee voting gets its name because voters vote absentee in Election Day polls, Leiker said.

“The results of all mail-in ballots, whether voted in person at the election office, returned by mail, or returned in person at the election office, are not known until election night after the polls close. vote,” she said.

Voters will be required to show identification to vote, whether they do so at the election office or at their polling station. There are a variety of accepted IDs, with details available from the Wyoming Office of the Secretary of State website.

Any foreign citizen or domestic or foreign military voter currently registered to vote in Wyoming may submit this form at the election office. Military voters and foreign citizens who are not currently registered to vote in Wyoming may request an absentee ballot through a Federal Postcard Application here. Military members and Wyoming residents who are overseas and want to vote by mail can visit the Wyoming Secretary of State website for more information.

After voters select the primary candidates, absentee voting for Wyoming’s general election will begin on Friday, September 23. The general election is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8.

County 17 published questionnaires for candidates and other election-related articles. These can be found under the County 17 Elections tab.
