Nigeria: Drugmaker Glaxosmithkline PLC to pay N538.1 million dividend to shareholders

The dividend will be paid to shareholders whose names appear on the register of members at the close of business on April 22.

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Nigeria Plc will pay its shareholders 538.1 million naira in gross dividends, equivalent to a dividend per share of 0.45 naira for the financial year 2021, the company said in a notice posted on the website of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

This represents a 12.5% ​​increase from the 478.4 million naira paid a year earlier.

The pharmaceutical company said the dividend payment is subject to appropriate withholding and approval by the sha at the annual general meeting.

The dividend will be paid to shareholders whose names appear on the register of members at the close of business on April 22, while the register of shareholders will be closed from April 25 to May 5.

Payment will go to those who “have completed the Electronic Dividend Registration and instructed the Registrar to pay their dividends straight into their bank accounts,” he said.

“Shareholders who have not yet completed electronic dividend registration are encouraged to download the Registrar’s Electronic Dividend Mandate Activation Form,” the company added.

The drugmaker saw moderate growth in its key performance indicators for 2021, when profit edged up 5.9% to N658.8 million and revenue edged up 5.4% to 22.4 billion naira.

“Shareholders with dividend warrants and share certificates that are unclaimed, or have not yet been presented for payment or returned for validation are urged to complete the electronic dividend record or contact the Registrar,” the document reads.
