LCMA is conducting a demolition campaign in Srinagar areas

Srinagar, April 30: The Law Enforcement Wing of the Lake Conservation and Management Authority today carried out a demolition campaign in Nigeen, Shahdadbagh, Lashkari Mohalla NFR, Friends Colony, Nowpora and WFR.
During the journey, two blocks, three floors and one floor were demolished which were raised illegally by unscrupulous elements taking advantage of the government holiday.
LCMA authorities have advised that there is no tolerance for illegal constructions/encroachments, furthermore no laxity or neglect of duty on the part of field staff is tolerated. Recently, two observers from the Nigeen site were suspended for showing a ruthless approach to their assigned tasks.
All public residing within the LCMA jurisdiction and the lake are once again urged not to engage in any illegal constructions/encroachments by improperly taking advantage of government holidays as the Enforcement Wing will continue its demolition campaigns of illegal construction / removal of encroachments and will continue to take legal action against offenders.
Additionally, dumpster/transporter owners are advised not to transport/carry construction materials within the prohibited area of ​​Dal Lake/Nigeen without obtaining proper permission and in case anyone is found, they will be dealt with. in accordance with the law. Additionally, CCTV cameras have been installed in order to curb the transportation of illegal building materials within the LCMA jurisdiction.
