New Delhi, Aug 29 (PTI) A brief spell of light rain was reported in parts of South and South East Delhi on Monday, bringing major relief to the wet weather conditions in the city.

While the maximum temperature stood at 35.9 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.9 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of year.

The relative humidity recorded at 5:30 p.m. was 53%, according to a bulletin from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) deteriorated to the moderate category (135) around 6:30 p.m., according to data from the Air Quality and Weather Research and Forecasting System ( SAFAR).

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered good, 51 and 100 satisfactory, 101 and 200 moderate, 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and 401 and 500 severe.

IMD predicted mostly cloudy skies with light precipitation for the next few days.
