The 25th World Book Day has landed and many celebrities and their children have gone all out to mark the occasion. Every year on March 3, school children get creative by dressing up as their favorite literary character.
This year, more celebrities and their children have made the effort and dressed up as some of the country’s most beloved characters, such as Woody from Toy Story and Hermione Granger from Harry Potter.
TV star Kate Ferdinand was one of the first celebrities to show off her children’s costumes, and they certainly pulled out all the stops. With her skin covered in orange paint, Kate’s stepdaughter Tia was dressed as Oompa Loompa from Roald Dahl’s Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
She completed her outfit with a green wig and a brown and white outfit. Tia was also pictured holding hands with her half-brother Cree, dressed as Woody from Toy Story. Kate captioned the post: “You have a friend in me…. World Book Day.”
Many of her followers flocked to the comments section to praise her children’s efforts. One user wrote: ” Ah that made me smile,” and another wrote: “ Oh that’s just adorable, I love the costumes.”
Despite being away from home, Rochelle Humes also shared her children’s World Book Day costumes, with her two daughters dressing up as Mirabel from Disney’s Encanto. Valentina and Alaia-Mai both wore matching outfits as they beamed for the camera.
Rochelle’s youngest child, Blake, born in 2020, dressed as The Gruffalo from the children’s picture book. He looked adorable in his all-in-one outfit as he sat smiling at the camera lens.
Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon also had a similar idea with Encanto, as her daughter dressed as Dolores from the same Disney film. Her youngest daughter, meanwhile, dressed up as a ladybug.
TOWIE star Amy Childs has posted an adorable photo of her daughter, Polly, dressed as a Disney Princess for World Book Day. Posing in a sparkly pink dress, Amy captioned her post, “Of course Polly wanted to dress up as a Disney Princess for #worldbookday.”
Heart FM radio presenter Amanda Holden also couldn’t resist dressing up for World Book Day and asked her co-hosts Ashley Roberts and Jamie Theakston to get involved. All three dressed up as The Three Musketeers in matching blue and white outfits.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge also shared a picture of her youngest daughter Hollie, 12, posing as a Pirates of the Caribbean pirate. She posed in a white top with brown pants and boots, complete with a pirate hat.
Kerry Katona also shared a photo of her daughter dressed as Hermione Granger from the Harry Potter franchise. She captioned her post: “It’s World Book Day folks and look what my baby girl dressed up as.”
Kerry’s followers also commented on her post and couldn’t believe how grown up her daughter looked. One user said, “Just too cute. She’s grown so much Kerry. You’re an amazing mom,” while a second person said, “Little Hermione,” complete with heart-eye emojis.
