Here are the highlights of what’s happening around town this week.

Monday, January 10, 2022

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 am – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and crafts based on a weekly theme. No registration required.
  • Youth writing club (3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.) @ zoom: The Southborough Library is home to this virtual creative writing club for ages 10-18. Zoom sessions are a fun and encouraging space to get creative and develop skills with peers. For more details, see the dedicated article.

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 am – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Join Miss Kim for stories and crafts based on a weekly theme. No registration required.
  • Tech Time Tuesday (4:00 PM – 5:00 PM) @ Southborough Library Teen Room: Need help with tech? Library staff and teenage volunteers will go out of their way to help you. Bring questions about eBooks and eBooks. This is a downside event; no registration required. Sessions are limited to 1 hour maximum.
  • Art with photography for kids (4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) @ Apothecary Artists, 1 Boston Rd: Apothecary Artists offers classes for children (fee and registration required). This week’s session is for students in grades 2 to 4. Using a camera, phone, or other device that takes photos, students will learn to play with lighting, angles, shadows, and more.   • Still life sketch jam course (6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.) @ Apothecary Artists, 1 Boston Rd: Apothecary Artists offers classes (fees and registration required). This session: Instructor Patrick Steele will set up a group of objects for students (13 years old to adulthood) to do short and long term sketches and studies to put into practice the values, shapes and shading.   • Story time for baby / toddler (11:00 am – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: This story hour is intended for children 0-2 years old and their parents or guardians. Each session will include puppets, stories and music. No registration required.
  • Let’s be creative for the kids (4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.) @ Apothecary Artists, 1 Boston Rd: Apothecary Artists offers classes for children (fee and registration required). This week’s session is for students in grades 2 to 4. Have fun using a variety of materials to create a work of art. For more details, see the dedicated publication.
