A family-run fragrance maker has received seven-figure funding to support its plans for growth and international expansion.
Carvansons Ltd, based in Haslingden, has used funding from HSBC UK to expand its production capacity and support the growth of its international sales centers in Europe, South East Asia and Africa. The company currently exports 60% of its perfumes and perfumery products to countries around the world.
Funding from HSBC UK has also enabled investment in new software and the integration of more efficient processes at its 65,000 square foot facility, which opened in February. Thanks to the funding, Carvansons has increased its number of employees from 50 to 102 over the past 18 months.

Managing Director Luke Whowell said: “Our business continues to grow year on year, despite the huge impact of the pandemic on staff levels and a challenging global market landscape. The funding provided by HSBC UK has enabled us to streamline our operations, explore new business opportunities and gain efficiencies within our new facility. We are delighted to now be able to offer apprenticeships and develop a range of exciting career opportunities in the Rossendale area.
The Knowsley Park Way site includes fragrance labs, a modern office, customer sampling areas and a 50,000 square foot fragrance manufacturing and warehousing facility. Carvansons was recently nominated for a Lancashire Red Rose Award in the Export category.
