Parts of Essex could see even more snow as a cold snap has brought freezing temperatures across the county. Across Essex, many towns and villages saw flurries of snow throughout the afternoon of yesterday (March 31).
In the north of the county, in areas like Colchester, there were blizzard conditions, with large chunks of snow and high winds. Meanwhile, snow also fell across the southern county.
Cold temperatures are also expected to continue today (April 1), with -1C temperatures recorded in some areas such as Braintree. Weather experts have predicted that even more snow could fall today as temperatures drop.

Leigh-on-Sea is one area that has already seen snow showers today, with more on the way in other parts of the county, it has been predicted. According to Essex Weather Center on Twitter, parts of Essex could see a “dust” of snow and sleet in parts of the eastern county in the coming hours. It comes after much of the county saw flurries of snow yesterday afternoon.
Taking to Twitter, the weather experts wrote: ‘Sleet and snow showers affecting parts of East Essex over the next few hours which may leave some dust in spots.
